Echoes of Ease |

"Echoes of Ease" captures the candid, everyday moments of recreation shared with my parents before their passing. Through large-scale, mixed-media drawings, I revisit the joy, simplicity, and comfort of those fleeting instances. This work is not only about remembering but also about being with them again in the process of creating. Each piece is a pause in time—a kitchen alive with conversation, a chess game mid-strategy, or the quiet focus of reading—scenes that now feel monumental in their simplicity. Using photographs and art materials I inherited from my parents, I see myself as the steward of these memories, entrusted with the responsibility of breathing life into them. The act of drawing has become my way of holding on, spending time with them through the details—the fabric of a couch, the patterns of a shirt, the curve of a familiar smile. These works are a testament to love, loss, and the enduring power of the small, unspoken rituals that define family life.
